“Once you start at a certain point, there is no turning back. That point must be reached.” I reached this point after several days in the saddle of my old Madison bike, as I left my homeland for an unknown duration. Ahead of me was a journey with no plan and no set destination. A journey that ultimately took me to more than twenty countries over ten months. First by bike, then mostly by hitchhiking, I traveled through countries such as Iran, Myanmar, and China. A talk about freedom on the road, experiences along the way, and especially about the people without whom the journey would not have been possible.
