In response to the current traffic situation in the Brumlovka location and the number of enquiries we have received in recent days, we would like to provide you with an overview of the ongoing traffic restrictions and their anticipated progress.
Unfortunately, the current situation is being affected by the overlap of several construction and technical works carried out by different organisations, primarily the Prague Road Administration (TSK) and Prague Gas Distribution. In some cases, these involve emergency repairs that could not have been anticipated, making it impossible to plan or coordinate their impact on traffic in advance. Nevertheless, we remain in continuous contact with all parties involved, are working to minimise disruption wherever possible, and are actively seeking the swiftest possible return to normal traffic conditions across the area.
1) Road Repairs at the Vyskočilova × Michelská Junction
(carriageway, pavement and pedestrian crossings)
At present, this closure is having the most significant impact on traffic conditions in and around Brumlovka. TSK implemented an immediate road closure following the discovery of a critical defect caused by the undermining of the carriageway on Vyskočilova Street after the heavy rainfall experienced during September. Given the risk of structural instability and potential subsidence of both the road and adjacent pavements, urgent safety measures were required.
The neighbouring construction project (operated by our company) has been providing maximum cooperation and support to facilitate the works and help ensure that the road can be reopened as soon as possible. However, all decisions relating to the scope of repairs, traffic management arrangements and the implementation schedule remain entirely within TSK’s responsibility.
According to the latest information available, the works, including the recommissioning of the traffic lights and the associated approval procedures required by TSK, are expected to be completed on Sunday, 18th October 2026.We therefore hope that traffic on Vyskočilova Street will return to a considerably more normal operating regime from Monday onwards, although some minor finishing works may still be taking place.
2) Prague Gas Distribution Works in Michelská, Pobočná and V Zápolí Streets
Extensive gas infrastructure modernisation works are currently being carried out by Prague Gas Distribution in Michelská Street, V Zápolí Street, Pobočná Street and the surrounding roads in the Kačerov area. This project, which is entirely unrelated to any planned Brumlovka developments by our company, involves the reconstruction and renewal of both low-pressure and medium-pressure gas pipelines.
Unfortunately, these works are also affecting access to and from the Brumlovka location. Under the originally published schedule, the main construction activities were expected to be completed by 6th October. However, related finishing works, backfilling of excavations and final surface reinstatement works may still be ongoing.
Our company has no ability to influence either the schedule or organisation of these works. For further information regarding the removal of traffic restrictions, we recommend contacting Prague Gas Distribution directly.
3) One-Way Traffic Restrictions on Želetavská and Jemnická Streets and BB2 Shuttle Service Limitations
This traffic measure is associated with the long-planned revitalisation of the carriageway and adjoining public spaces around the HILA building, a project being delivered by our company.
We informed tenants of these works in advance, and the project was carefully planned to minimise disruption to traffic on Želetavská Street. The expected completion date of 31st October 2026 remains unchanged. The aim of the project is to enhance the quality of the public realm while improving safety and comfort for pedestrians and visitors in this part of the district.
As a result of the combined impact of the restrictions outlined above, delays are currently affecting both public transport services and the Brumlovka shuttle bus time table. We understand that the current traffic situation may cause inconvenience, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding during this period.
Our team remains in regular contact with the organisations involved and is actively exploring opportunities to minimise the impact on traffic throughout the location. We will continue to keep you informed of any significant developments.
In the meantime, we kindly ask everyone to exercise extra caution when moving around construction areas and to follow all temporary traffic signage and safety measures. Should you have any feedback regarding the traffic situation or any related questions, please do not hesitate to contact us using the details provided below. We will do our best to respond to all relevant enquiries.
