About the artist – Josef Balek: Originally from South Bohemia, Josef Balek now lives in Prague 6. For nearly 30 years he devoted himself to oil painting, inspired by the art of the Old Dutch masters, especially Rembrandt. Since 2015, he has painted exclusively in watercolor, focusing mainly on Prague’s hidden corners. In 2012, he was awarded 2nd place in France for his oil technique at the Grand Prix International des Créateurs du Siècle La Lavoire.
This exhibition will take you into the beautiful nooks of Prague, showing its diversity and history. Many Prague residents walk through these streets without much notice, yet the city is full of wonderful places where history has left its mark. You will see numerous romantic alleys, beautifully restored houses, and their facades—it would be a shame to pass them by unnoticed.
We look forward to seeing you,
