Take a moment out of your workday and come enjoy a captivating talk on travel. This time, the theme is “With Maté in Hand and the Wind at Your Back: Wild Argentina and Patagonia.” Argentina is a country of people who wear their hearts on their sleeves and carry a thermos of hot water in the other hand. Together, we’ll explore why life there is almost impossible without maté, and why local hospitality isn’t just a marketing slogan but a basic rule of survival in the vast wilderness of South America.

From the bustle of civilization, we’ll escape to the deep lakes, mountains, and forests of northern Patagonia, only to be stunned moments later by the raw beauty of its far south.

WHEN: March 4, from 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Filadelfie Building – retail passage, Želetavská 1525/1

Speaker: MICHAL KROUŽEL

Along the way, there will be no shortage of wildlife — including the ever‑beloved penguins. I may only be able to bring you the famous Patagonian wind through a projection screen, but I’m confident it will still sweep your worries away. We’ll also cross the border into Chile to discover that its mountains and wilderness are just as enchanting as those in Argentina.

The highlight of the talk will be an expedition with gauchos into places where maps — and all sense of comfort — end. Expect endless forests, herds of cattle, loyal horses, and the intoxicating feeling of being completely alone in the world. You’ll learn how gauchos eat on their long journeys and what the night sky looks like in places untouched by any light — only silence and absolute darkness.

We look forward to seeing you,
