We would like to inform you about an ongoing emergency repair of a district heating pipeline on Václava Sedláčka Street, in the section between the BETA and DELTA buildings. The affected infrastructure belongs to Pražská teplárenská, a.s. and requires immediate repair to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the network.
Repair Works Update
- On Monday, 20th October 2026, excavation works commenced in the adjacent green area, which had initially been identified as the likely location of the fault.
- During the afternoon, it was confirmed that the extent of the damage is greater than originally anticipated and that the repair will also require intervention within the roadway.
- As a result, works have been taking place in the centre traffic lane since today. The area remains accessible to vehicles, with traffic being directed around the worksite and appropriate traffic management measures in place.
- Depending on the progress of the repair works, activities may be moved between individual traffic lanes. Access will be maintained at all times via at least one lane, supported by temporary crossing structures where necessary.
- Should any restrictions to the pedestrian crossing become unavoidable, a safe alternative pedestrian route will be clearly marked.
As the exact location and full extent of the damage continue to be assessed and refined, it is not currently possible to determine a definitive completion date for the repairs. Should more significant traffic restrictions become necessary, we will work closely with the contractor, Termonta, to schedule such works during weekends wherever technically possible.
